Terms of Use
1. App provider
Tax Residency is provided by Hypatia LTD, THE PLAZA COMMERCIAL CENTRE, LEVEL 6 - SUITE 1, BISAZZA STREET, SLIEMA SLM 1640, MALTA, Company Registration Number C 106777.
2. License
Subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, Hypatia grants the user a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Tax Residency for personal or internal business purposes on Apple devices owned or controlled by the user.
3. Informational tool only
Tax Residency provides informational records and calculations about time spent in countries. The app is not legal, tax, immigration, or accounting advice. Users remain responsible for verifying residence, visa, tax, and immigration obligations with qualified professionals or official authorities.
4. User responsibilities
- Keep device permissions and app settings aligned with the intended use.
- Review and correct entries when location data is incomplete, delayed, or ambiguous.
- Maintain backups if records are important for personal administration.
- Use the app only for lawful purposes.
5. Accuracy and availability
Location, motion, photo metadata, reverse geocoding, background scheduling, and iCloud behavior depend on Apple platform services, device settings, battery policies, connectivity, and local conditions. Hypatia does not guarantee that records are complete, continuous, or suitable as official evidence.
6. Third-party services
The app may use Apple services such as Core Location, Photos, notifications, widgets, and iCloud when enabled by the user. Those services are governed by Apple's terms and policies.
7. Backups and data loss
The user is responsible for maintaining appropriate backups. Hypatia is not liable for data loss caused by device failure, deletion, iCloud settings, operating system behavior, import/export mistakes, or user actions.
8. Purchases
If paid features, in-app purchases, or subscriptions are offered in the future, they will be processed through the App Store and governed by Apple's payment, renewal, refund, and cancellation rules.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hypatia is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or business losses arising from use of the app, including decisions made based on app calculations.
10. Changes and termination
Hypatia may update the app and these Terms from time to time. The user may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Hypatia may discontinue or modify app functionality where legally or technically necessary.
