Terms of Use

1. App provider

What’s News? is provided by Hypatia LTD, THE PLAZA COMMERCIAL CENTRE, LEVEL 6 - SUITE 1, BISAZZA STREET, SLIEMA SLM 1640, MALTA, Company Registration Number C 106777.

2. Pre-release TestFlight service

The current version is a pre-release build intended solely for authorised testers through Apple TestFlight. It may contain errors, change without notice, have limited availability, and use staging data or controls. It is not approved for public production use. Testing feedback may be sent to Hypatia, but testers must not submit confidential information in feedback.

3. License

Subject to these Terms, the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, and Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, Hypatia grants the tester a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use What’s News? on Apple devices owned or controlled by the tester for evaluation and personal informational purposes.

4. News summaries and AI

What’s News? uses automated systems, including AI-assisted web search and summarisation, to create short news summaries and source links. AI-generated content may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect. Source links and disclosures are provided so testers can review the underlying material. OpenAI supplies a technical discovery and synthesis service and does not grant rights in publisher content.

5. Informational use only

The app is not a substitute for the original source and does not provide legal, medical, financial, safety or other professional advice. Users must verify important information with the linked source and an appropriate qualified professional or official authority before acting on it.

6. Accounts and user responsibilities

7. Sources and third-party services

Publisher pages, Apple services and other linked third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. A link or citation does not imply endorsement or a grant of reuse rights. What’s News? does not reproduce publisher images or full articles in the current TestFlight scope. The current source and rights approach is described on the Sources and licenses page.

8. Availability, changes and termination

Hypatia may change, suspend or stop the pre-release service, withdraw a story or source, close an account, or apply a kill switch where needed for security, rights, quality, cost or operational reasons. A tester may stop using the app and request account deletion at any time. No subscription or paid entitlement is offered in the current staging build.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The pre-release service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Hypatia does not guarantee continuous availability or the accuracy, completeness, timeliness or suitability of generated summaries. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that limitation, Hypatia is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or business losses arising from reliance on pre-release content or interruption of the service.

10. Privacy

The What’s News? Privacy Policy explains how personal information is processed and how account export and deletion work.

11. Contact
